The Massachusetts Governor’s Office has announced that it will buy 1,200 megawatts of offshore wind power from Vineyard Wind and 400 megawatts of offshore wind power from Mayflower Wind. The Vineyard Wind Project will generate 800 MW of energy, consist of 60 turbines, and will be located 15 miles south of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. Mayflower Wind will generate roughly 800 MW.
